Me Am Bad Luck Charm

Ooh! Ooh! Profile randomredux I got your present this morning! I opened him up and he’s totally perfect and I was like, “Squee!”

So. So cool.

Now I will have to go out and buy him a Batzarro to hang about with, because Bizarro/Batzarro is my OTP4EVA.

And in other news; when I was walking up the driveway last night, a lorikeet flew down onto the carport and started chirping at me. Then followed me to the door and tried to get into the house via the cat flap.

He was chirping and looked kinda mangy — missing feathers around his neck and on his breast — so we put out some rasins and wheat puffs which he devoured hungrily. I guess he’d escaped from someone, or been released by some irresponsible ex-owner, so we got him into the shed overnight; he’d obviously been handled a lot and wasn’t shy about walking all over humans (I’ve got the shallow scratch-marks on my arm to prove it). The problem with hand-reared birds is you really just can’t ‘release’ them back into the wild — they can’t feed themselves and the flocks usually won’t accept them — so this morning we bundled him up in box and took him to the RSPCA. The box was the one E. had mailed me down my wedding shoes in months ago — still replete with stamps and addressing — so I think we must have looked mighty suspicious sitting at Sakeena’s this morning with a chirping parcel sitting on the table between our coffees.

We’re really not trying to send a bird through the post, honest.

Poor thing; hope he finds a nice home.
