Alphabet Meme & Nerdy DnD Talk

Shamelessly stolen from Profile gossymer.

  1. It begins with a list of all 26 letters of the alphabet.
  2. Comment with something for me to talk about that starts with one of those letters. Make me babble about anything; TV shows, actors, actresses, food… be creative.
  3. One topic per letter. I will cross off letters as topics appear.
  4. I will post a new post talking about all 26 topics given to me!
Quoted From: Alphabet Meme

I doubt we’ll get all 26 (since I doubt I have 26 people who comment), but it’s good to try.

( The List… )

In other, equally thrilling news, DnD 4th Edition is out here on Friday. I’m more of a White Wolf player myself (vampires and wizards and werewolves… oh my!), but I’ve done my fair share of DnD, too. The good news? Wizards have pulled the Monk and Bard classes. This is full of lulz since E. always plays some variant on “Halfling Monk” or “Half-Elf Bard”, so she’ll totally have to think of something new. I’m usually, like, an Elven Ranger/Rogue, though once I played a Half-Orc Fighter called Filthy Ike whose main possession was a bag of soap (he was very clean, hence the nickname).

And — even better — Gnomes are gone! Replaced with Dragonborn and Tieflings. Oh Wizards, don’t let anyone ever tell you you don’t know how to pander to your audience.

Interesting that they’ve thrown away Prestige Classes, though. But probably a good move; Prestige Classes were all either cool but totally useless or ridiculously overpowered. No-one actually roleplays in d20, so the only thing they were good for was the latter. Mat and B. once designed a multi-classed character called “The Paratrooper” who would be effectively invincible against any large army. This is what happens when you pit maths nerds up against a system based on (gasp) maths.

I give it three months until a replacement system pops up.
