It's like mind rape!says one victim.
I hear it a lot, phrased in different ways, the idea that women have come far enough and should shut the fuck up already. That there is no longer a need for feminism, that feminism is antiquated - that is so 1975.
How can you tell when a story is good? How do you know when a story is finished? How do you edit effectively? How can you pick a good editing choice from a bad one? Can you learn "talent"?
Imagine that you wanted to tell stories, but all kinds of forces were acting to ensure that you can't do a really good job -- or at minimum, that you can't control whether the job turns out well.
However it seems rather unsurprising to me that a male writer is not going to relate well to the rather common experience of a woman who has an admirer she doesn't want to connect with.
